About me

Philip Hedges is Course Leader of MSc Economic Policy and Analysis and Module Leader for Westminster Business School undergraduate dissertations, Economic Appraisal and Evaluation, and Applied Economic Research and Appraisal. He is also the Module Leader of Human Resource Management in a Business Context for MA Human Resource Management and MA International Human Resource Management. Research includes statistical analyses of the mismatch between quantitative skills and expectations of new undergraduates, the characteristics of success in Government Economic Service skill assessments, the national value of branding, flexibility in small firms, and the costs and benefits of social housing. Philip has presented on pedagogical approaches in Economics at conferences organised by the Economics Network.

Teaching

Philip is the Course Leader of MSc Economic Policy and Analysis and has successfully validated and led postgraduate programmes in Economics at the University since 2012. He is the Module Leader of Applied Economic Research and Appraisal (a Level 5 core module for Economics undergraduates), the Dissertation module for Level 6 Westminster Business School undergraduates, and Economic Appraisal and Evaluation (a Level 7 core module for MSc Economic Policy and Analysis students). He is also Module Leader of Human Resource Management in a Business Context (a Level 7 core module for MA Human Resource Management and MA International Human Resource Management students).

Research
