Before you apply
Find out more about Clearing
Watch our video to find out more about Clearing at the University of Westminster.
Our Clearing Toolkit is a printable guide to help you make decisions on the day and provide you with top tips for preparing for Clearing.
You will have to have all your results before we can make you an offer of a place through Clearing.
We can only make unconditional offers through UCAS if you apply through the Clearing process.
Why not sign up for our call-back service and we’ll call you?
Once you have your results, we can consider you for a place. For our architecture, engineering, complementary medicine, property and construction, and media, art and design courses you might need to send a portfolio of work or attend an interview. You will be provided of details of this when contacting us.
For the majority of applicants to the rest of our courses, we will look at the qualifications that you have obtained so far.
If we can offer you a place through Clearing then we will send you a Clearing offer email. Please make sure you check your junk mail folder in case it ends up in there and add @westminster.ac.uk to your safe senders list. This offer will not appear on UCAS Track.
If your offer is conditional on results, we will need to receive your grades to confirm your place on a course. Results day can be a stressful time, but being prepared of what to expect can help.
In advance of results day:
- Make sure you know how your results are getting to us. Results are sometimes automatically generated to us from UCAS. If your qualification is not listed then please send us your results as soon as you receive them so we can confirm your offer right away. If you are going to receive your results after 31 August 2017, please let us know.
- Have your UCAS ID to hand.
If you have all of your results and your place has not yet been confirmed then please get in contact with us. You can either email your results to your admissions officer or call us as soon as you get your results.
Firstly, congratulations! Secondly, you will need to add your offer as your Clearing choice on UCAS Track. Make sure you have read your Clearing offer email carefully as it includes instructions on how to accept your offer and a deadline to add it to Track on the UCAS website.
Need more time?
Let us know if you need more time to decide on your offer or if you need further information from us in order to help you make your decision. We will happily extend your offer and issue you with a new deadline if we think we still have vacancies on the course you are interested in.
The University needs to confirm to UCAS that we will accept you through Clearing. This usually takes one working day. Once we’ve confirmed your place it will show on UCAS Track and we will send you a confirmation email.
If you have a daughter or son who is going through Clearing, you may have questions yourself about the process and how you can help. Our Clearing advice for parents page can help you.
