Entry requirements

Applying for a course

If you are interested in studying for a Bachelor's degree (eg a BA, BSc, BEng or LLB) at the University of Westminster, you will need to check that you meet our entry requirements.

We have included typical entry requirements below, but these are simply a guideline. Some courses may also have specific subject or grade requirements, which will be listed on individual course pages.

For entry into Year 1 of Bachelor's degrees (Level 4), you will typically need to have one of the following:

  • High School Certificate and an appropriate ATAR/Overall Position (Queensland) score, as follows:

    • Capital Territory: Australia Capital Territory Year 12 Certificate

    • New South Wales: Higher School Certificate

    • Northern Territory: Northern Territory Certificate of Education / Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training

    • Queensland: Queensland Certificate of Education

    • South Australia: South Australian Certificate of Education

    • Tasmania: Tasmanian Certificate of Education

    • Victoria: Victorian Certificate of Education

    • Western Australia: Western Australia Certificate of Education

To be considered for entry into Year 2 of Bachelor's degrees (Level 5), you will typically need to have:

  • Associate Degree (2 years)

For information about equivalent English language qualifications that are accepted by the University, please visit our English language requirements page.

Applying for a course

If you are interested in studying for a Master's degree (eg MA, MSc or LLM) or research programme (eg MPhil or PhD) at the University of Westminster, you will need to check that you meet our entry requirements.

We have included typical entry requirements below, but these are simply a guideline. Some courses may also have specific subject or grade requirements, which will be listed on individual course pages.

You will typically need to have one of the following:

  • Bachelor Honours degree with at least a credit pass (60%+) from a recognised Australian institution. Students applying for postgraduate courses requiring a UK 2:1 degree will need a distinction pass (70-79%), and those applying for a course requiring a UK First Class degree will need a high distinction pass (80%+).

  • Holders of a three-year Bachelor degree (Ordinary) may be considered for entry onto some postgraduate diploma or Master's courses where the applicant has very high grades or additional relevant work experience.
