Sam Badcock, who graduated from the Marketing Communications BA Honours course in 2020, has been named as one of the Future 50 by The Drum, a leading marketing and media publication.

The Future 50 celebrates 50 of the best emerging marketers across the world. The awards recognise outstanding client-sided marketers and agency talents either under the age of 30 or in the first 18 months of their career. Sam was selected as one of 50 finalists from hundreds of reader nominations.

Sam works as a social media strategist for Havas talent shop Havas People, where he works to plan, strategise and execute the agency’s campaigns. In his first year with Havas, Sam helped put together an employee-focused push from Mars targeting key markets all over the world from Germany to South Africa, that saw popular success on TikTok and with top executives, on a tiny budget.

Sam has been also a dedicated volunteer for Westminster since graduating in 2020, from facilitating work experience placements at Havas to participating in the University’s What it Takes event series to give advice to students entering the world of work. Sam’s support for students and recent graduates was recognised this year in the Alumni Volunteering Awards, in which Sam won the Exceptional Support of Students and Recent Graduates Award.

Speaking about this success, Sam said: “It feels great to be recognised for my efforts within my space, and to sit amongst such a strong list of fellow nominees. Outreach has always been a strong motivator for me, so I feel privileged to be able to open up the industry to junior talent from Westminster and provide opportunities to the marketers of tomorrow!”
