We accept payment in a number of different ways. Please select from the following options:

Pay Now with Flywire

University of Westminster has partnered with payment provider Flywire to enable all our self-paying domestic and international students to safely and securely pay their tuition fees.  Flywire offers convenient payment options from over 240 countries and territories, in more than 140+ currencies.

Text reading "pay now with flywire" and the icons of various payment providers, such as Visa, Paypal, and Alipay, below.

You can pay your fees online by Credit/Debit card, after you have completed the student virtual enrolment task (please note we do not accept American Express, Visa Electron or Diners Club cards).

If you are a current applicant and have not yet completed the Student Virtual Enrolment Task, the quickest way to pay is by credit or debit card through our Applicant Portal, where you can complete the Enrolment task.

Please select  ‘bank transfer’ when presented in the payment process, as this is  our preferred method of payment.

Log in to pay online.

Your 8 digit student ID number and date of birth are mandatory requirements to pay online.

Guidance on making a payment is available in this video.

Additional payment information

The University of Westminster strongly discourages students from making payment by direct bank transfer. Students should make every effort to make payments using the other methods mentioned and explained on this page:

  • Pay Now with Flywire – this is the University's preferred method of payment
  • Other online methods

If you are not able to use any of those payment methods, and you need to obtain the bank account details of the University, you will need to make a special request by writing to us at .

Please state on the email by clearly addressing the items listed below:

  1. That you have tried using payment online / payment by phone / pay by credit/debit card and were unsuccessful
  2. Whether you have requested a pro forma invoice
  3. The name of the student making the payment
  4. The student’s University ID number (this must be provided)
  5. The student's full address
  6. The student's contact email address
  7. The student's contact phone number
  8. What you are paying for (eg tuition fee, accommodation fee, etc)
  9. Who is making the payment (If this is paid by sponsor, please state relationship to the student)
  10. The name of the payer
  11. The address of the payer
  12. The contact details of the payer

If you fail to provide all the above requested information, your request for bank account details will not be fulfilled.

If your fees will be paid by a Sponsor, please bring your sponsor letter with you at enrolment or alternately email your sponsor letter as a PDF to the Credit Control Team [email protected]. Invoices will be sent out after enrolment.

A new sponsor letter is required each academic year.

Sponsor letters should be submitted on company headed paper stating the exact amount or percentage of your tuition fees the organisation wishes to pay.

The letter must also include:

  • your name
  • course details
  • contact details of authorising person within the organisation
  • valid purchase order number (if applicable)
  • email contact address (mandatory)

Please make sure that the letter is signed by the relevant authorising manager from within the sponsor organisation.

Should your company require a PO number to be quoted on the invoice, please ensure this is submitted in place of the sponsor letter or is quoted on the sponsor letter. It is essential either the sponsor letter or the Purchase contains the correct invoice address and an email of the Accounts Payable team to avoid delay of paying the invoice.

Once the invoice is sent to your organisation, they will have 30 days to pay the invoice.

Students who are sponsored by their employer do not have the option to pay by instalments.

In the event that your sponsor fails to pay your tuition fees, you will become personally liable to pay these fees. So, you must make sure that your sponsor is aware that tuition fees are due for payment within 30 days of receiving the invoice.

Where a sponsor is making a partial contribution to a tuition fee, the self-funding element would be subjected to paying by instalments where applicable, or payment in full if the balance is below £2,000.00.

You must apply (or re-apply for continuing students) for your Tuition Fee Loan/Maintenance Loan for each year of your course. It is important to apply early to allow the Student Loans Company (SLC) to assess your student support application and ensure that your finances are in place before term starts in September.

When making arrangements for your tuition fees and maintenance loan to be paid it is important to ensure you have completed the following steps:

  1. You must have a valid National Insurance number that has been validated by the SLC and Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
  2. You must sign and return to the SLC your declaration that came with your student support notification entitlement letter.
  3. You must be complete full enrolment at the University of Westminster to allow your registration to be confirmed to the SLC.

Once we have confirmed your enrolment to the SLC you should expect your loan to be paid into your account within 3 to 5 working days, providing all the steps have been completed correctly.

If you have any questions in relation to your maintenance loan or registration contact the Student Funding Office on:

Please note: The Student Loans Company reserves the right to withdraw student support at any time should a student’s circumstances change and a student becomes ineligible for support, in such cases students will be liable for any unpaid tuition fees.

Tuition fee fraud

Students are requested to be alert whilst paying fees to the University and to always utilise the payment channels and payment links available on this page.

Students should NOT utilise third parties or individuals offering payment discounts to make their payments to the University. Utilising third parties provides no guarantee of payments correctly being received at the University and students can suffer losses as a result of the transfer. If in doubt, students should always contact the University finance department for guidance.

What can you do to avoid tuition fee fraud?

  • Be wary of approaches made on WeChat, Facebook, Instagram, or any other method
  • Only pay tuition fees directly to the University and not through third parties
  • Don’t share personal information or login details
  • Don’t be pressured into making payments because of an ‘offer expiring’. Criminals will try to rush or panic you
  • Don’t pay any type of tuition fee in cash to individuals or contacts through WeChat

The City of London Police’s Dedicated Card & Payment Crime Unit (DCPCU) have kindly shared a couple of flyers which they have put together, including one in Mandarin.

The police are actively sharing this information through various channels, including distribution of information to Chinese Embassy in London and the Chinese community, especially during Chinese New Year events.
